Hi! I'm Amy
................
I wish there was a book someone would have handed me as I was shaping my career on how I should set up this thing called life. For example, what are the pillars that I need to have in place before building upwards and just working full time. All I heard my whole life from the world of academia, the world of socialization, and the family of two that my mom and I were was – What do you want to be when you grow up? Later came the enhanced version of – “Make sure you pick something that you like, that way you don’t work a day in your life!” All of which is pointless without having a foundation built to support your career.
Looking back, I see that these questions/mantras were super cliché. They actually stem from a few major assumptions:
- That every person has the luxury of committing time, our priceless currency, to becoming whatever they want to become.
- That what we are sure committing 4+ years of time priceless currency to this field that we want to pursue as teenagers entering adulthood will align with our version of our future selves.
- Complete disregard for the delta here that most no one ever talks about. There are dependencies that need to fulfilled before a anyone has the “luxury” of just picking their future and therefore adding debt before they have a proper chance at an income.Â
Through coaching, those dependencies will be uncovered and unlocked paving the path to setting up your life’s pillars. The good news is, these principles can be applied during any course of life and it’s never too late to kickoff your project pillar. In Persian culture, we have a saying that goes, “Anytime you catch a fish out of water it’s considered fresh.” The vegan version is “Anytime you pick the fruit from the tree it's yours." And I'm here to help you find that tree or ocean that keeps on giving.Â
